Overview
This new method aims to combine several existing methods, allowing landholders greater flexibility to curry out multiple carbon sequestration methods on the same property. It also aims to address concerns raised and reviewed by the 2022 Independent Review of Australian Carbon Credit Units, increasing accountability under the new method.

AiCarbon's Role
AiCarbon has been active in shaping and contributing to the new IFLM method by our participation in the technical working groups.
These workshops allow us to advocate for changes alongside other carbon farming companies, landholders and other stakeholders to DCCEEW that improve the functionality and practicality of the new method during the consultation phase.
FAQ
As the new IFLM method is still being developed, proposed changes are not yet set in stone. However, the main proposed changes are
1. Baseline Forest will increase from 10 years to 15 years.
2. Early Model Start Date will be removed.
